Advantages

The ICOM Dynamic CNG/LNG/RNG Diesel Dual Fuel System has the following industry leading attributes:

  • ICOM Electronic Control Unit (ECU) powered by Ecomotive.
  • ICOM Dynamic works directly and transparently on the OEM Can Bus Network.
  • ICOM Dynamic, while in dual fuel mode, controls the OEM Diesel Injection and our CNG Injection for maximum diesel displacement and performance.
  • ICOM Dynamic is equipped with fail-safes to revert back to diesel and protect the engine if any of the following conditions arise: a) Monitors coolant, air intake, oil and exhaust gas temperatures for normal conditions. b) Engine light safety. c) Leak monitoring for high and low pressures.

ICOM Dynamic only injects CNG if all of the above conditions are met. If any are exceeded, the ICOM Dynamic system will shut-off and revert to diesel only. Further, the ICOM Dynamic system will not change over CNG/Diesel on initial start until all the above conditions are in normal operating range. All of these fail-safes protect the engine, require no driver input and have contributed to our global success.

If the truck is equipped with a Regen System, EGR System or such, the ICOM Dynamic System will turn off the CNG while in the Regen Mode. The ICOM Dynamic ECU can see these systems through the Can Bus Network to avoid potential issues.

The ICOM Dynamic system system is being utilized on the latest 2018 engines including Cummins, Paccar, Detroit Diesel, Mercedes and Volvo as well as engines dating back to the 1980's; Can be used on both automatic and manual transmissions; Under 100% load will achieve the most displacement (compared to other CNG systems that shut-off at 80% load or add a de-rate switch that requires driver manual input to turn on or off.

Over 5000 trucks and HD equipment (UTR's, Cranes, Generators, etc.) worldwide with zero engine issues.

The ICOM Dynamic System utilizes cutting edge components from ICOM and Blackstone; The regulator meets the latest standards and is best able to meet fuel demands; The Mixing Ring allows for precise air/fuel ratio displacement; Sensors are state of the art.

The ICOM Dynamic system injects natural gas post turbo allowing for a more precise timing of injection for the engine (compared to other CNG systems that injects pre-turbo which can and often has lead to timing issues causing the engine to over-fuel resulting in engine damage. Additionally, fumigating pre-turbo can cause the turbo temperature to rise and damage the intercooler and turbo by applying too much pressure). The ICOM Dynamic system avoids all these issues.

Clearly the ICOM Dynamic system allows for the a) most displacement of diesel, b) best performance and c) reduced emissions.

ICOM can successfully convert and achieve approval on most any diesel engine.
